On the basis of the department “Construction of buildings and structures” in 2008 was opened the direction 5340600 – “Operation of transport facilities”. On the basis of the department “Construction of buildings and structures” the department “Roads and traffic safety” became a separate department.
In 2011, the department began admission to the new direction 5340800 – “Roads and airfields.” In 2012, the department began accepting students for a master’s degree in 5A340602 – “Repair and maintenance of roads and airfields.”
In the 2012-2013 academic year, by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the name of the department was changed to “Highways” and the head of the department was docent. Adilov Akbota Karimovich has been appointed.
In the 2013-2014 academic year, the head of the department was Assoc. Berdikulov Azam Mardonovich headed it.
In the 2014-2017 academic year, the head of the department was Assoc. Hamrakulov was headed by Ravshan Jabborovich.
In the department in 2017-2018 as the head of the department docent. Ganiev was led by Inomjon Gulomovich. Shavkat Ochiltoshevich Erboyev has been appointed the head of the department since April 12, 2018. He worked as the head of the department in 2018-2020.

Of these, 104 students study on a grand basis, 312 students on a contract basis, 9 masters on a grand basis, 8 masters on a contract basis. The main tasks of the department are the training of advanced bachelors and masters in the construction and design of modern highways and airfields, teaching methods, research.
Achieved scientific results:
Accredited laboratory for testing of construction products under the department successfully continues its activities. During this laboratory, undergraduates and gifted students receive research results based on research programs.The research activities of the department of “Road Engineering” are regularly discussed at meetings of the scientific and methodological councils of the institute and the relevant decisions are made.
The following measures are planned for the new 2020-2021:
– Search for ways to increase the scientific potential of the department to 50%;
– to discuss in detail the status of the dissertations of independent researchers at the meetings of the Academic Council of the faculties and to make appropriate decisions;
– On the basis of state grants, orders (contracts) of enterprises and organizations, the department prepares scientific and pedagogical staff of specialists in relevant specialties and specialties, defends doctoral dissertations, implements research results, prepares documents on inventions and rationalization proposals and assistance in registration;
– Implementation of the implementation of innovative developments created by professors and teachers of the department;
– Holding an international scientific-practical conference at the department; Ensuring the participation of talented students and young scientists in various conferences and competitions;
– In cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan to pay special attention to the involvement of students in experimental design and research work; Technical management of transport facilities in emergencies. Today, talented students are involved in research.
The department effectively uses advanced pedagogical and information technologies in the disciplines taught. During the academic year, the main focus was on the effective use of new pedagogical and information technologies in order to provide students with in-depth knowledge. Visual aids, electronic slides from all disciplines were prepared and included in the IRC database of the institute. Textbooks, guidelines, electronic slides created by the department are posted on the electronic network Ziyonet every month. Also, during the current academic year, 2 textbooks on the lack of textbooks in special subjects of the department were developed by teachers of the department and used in the educational process. The disciplines taught at the department are organized on the basis of modern pedagogical and information technologies. Multimedia, presentations, and business games are used in lectures and practical classes. More than 25% of the lectures are organized in a problematic way, which ensures the activity of students. As a result, the average mastery of students in the disciplines taught at the department is growing from year to year. The rating system of student assessment is strictly followed. In the amount of hours devoted to independent study, students are able to increase their rating by preparing slides, crossword puzzles, tests and scientific articles.
Associate PhD R. Hamrakulov returned in March 2019 to improve his skills at MADI in Moscow.
Senior Lecturer O.Zafarov returned from the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development of India on 4.03-12.04 2019 to improve his skills in the Industrial Infrastructure and Sustanaible Project preparation and Appraisal program.
Senior lecturer R. Bobojonov received an internship in Minsk, Belarus in 2019 on the basis of a grant from the People’s Hope Fund under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and received a special certificate number guv 0019022. A total of 18 hours of lectures, 4 hours of practical and 6 hours of laboratory classes were held at the Department of Automobile Roads of the National Technical University of Belarus. Reference № 114-06-55 / 003 January 13, 2020. He took a master class on December 18, 2019 and a master class on January 10, 2020 at the Department of Automobile Roads of the National Technical University of Belarus and received the relevant certificates.
From September 23, 2019 to January 18, 2020, Assistant E. Urushbayev studied at the Institute for Organization of Youth Issues and Training of Prospective Personnel under the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. successfully completed.
