The 32nd anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was celebrated at the Palace of Conferences of the Jizzakh regional administration. At the event, the regional governor Ergash Saliyev spoke on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. In today's global environment, the worthy place of our Motherland - the Republic of Uzbekistan, with a great history and a bright future, among the world's countries, the prosperous lifestyle of our compatriots, the bright future of our youth, the effectiveness of our ongoing creative reforms and the significance of the results - all of this is closely related to the vital principles and rules created on the basis of our Basic Law. The Constitution also serves our people, society and state over the years, and changes based on the criteria of development. To date, the Constitution has been amended a total of 15 times since 1992. The Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was last adopted in a new edition with amendments and additions according to the results of a referendum held on April 30, 2023. This time, due to the large scale of the changes, a new edition of the document was adopted. As a result of the update, the number of articles in the main text increased from 128 to 155, and the norms in it from 275 to 434. In general, the Constitution was updated by 65%. The new edition of the Constitution entered into force on May 1, 2023. The performance of artists at the event, which was held in a solemn spirit, delighted those present. Professors, teachers and employees of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute also took part in this event.
