About the Department of Energy and Electrical Technology

The Department originated in 1979, having separated from the “General Education Subjects” Department at the Jizzakh branch of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute. Initially, it operated under the name “Department of Physics.” In 1992, with the establishment of the “Electrical Power Engineering” specialty, the department was renamed “Department of Physics and Electrical Power Engineering.” In 2002, the “Electrical Power Engineering” Department was established as a separate unit.

In 2005, the Departments of Physics and Electrical Power Engineering were merged to form the “Department of Electrical Power Engineering and Physics.” In 2012, the “Electrical Power Engineering” Department again began operating independently. In 2020, the department was renamed the “Department of Energy,” and since 2024, it has been operating under the name “Department of Energy and Electrical Technology.”

Currently, the department comprises 27 academic staff members, including 1 Professor, 5 PhD holders (Candidates of Science), 7 Senior Lecturers, and 14 Assistants. They provide instruction in 53 subjects related to electrical power engineering and energy, in accordance with the state educational standards.

At present, Assistants M. Hasanov, A. Suyarov, A. Boliyev, A. Jumanov, and U. Sarimsoqov are conducting independent research.

Since 2023, faculty members and students of the department have been producing silicon-based solar panels at the Scientific and Practical Center for Research on Alternative Energy of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute.

Additionally, the department has established procedures for conducting energy audits in organizations, with relevant contracts being concluded with consumers.
