DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
This department was established in 1977 under the Jizzakh "General Engineering" faculty of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute, and at that time it was called the "Marxism-Leninism and Languages" department. The department was headed by Abdusalom Soatov, candidate of philosophical sciences. In 1980-1989, the department was headed by Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor E. Murodov, in 1989-1990, Senior Lecturer Hikmatulla Turmatov, in 1990-1991, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Farhod Mamatkulov, in 1991-1992 and 1996-2001, Senior Lecturer Botir Uzoqov, in 1993-1996, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Saidakhmad Abdunazarov, in 2001-2002, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Ravshan Hidoyatov, in 2006-2011, Q. Uralov, in 2012, J. Ju'raev, in 2012-2017, J. Bobonazarova, in 2017-2023, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor P. Kulmatov. From 2023 to the present, Shukhrat Turatov has been heading the department. In 1987-1992, the department was called "Social Studies", and from 1992 to this day it has been operating under the name of the "Social Sciences" department. The department has been providing students with in-depth knowledge through lectures and practical classes in the subjects "History of Uzbekistan", "Fundamentals of Spirituality", "Religious Studies", "Economic Theory", "Cultural Studies". In previous years, the department has established an entrance exam for postgraduate students in the subject "History of Uzbekistan" and a minimum candidate acceptance rate for the course "Philosophy, the Idea of National Independence and Methodology of Science". This has created great opportunities for those entering postgraduate studies, postgraduate students and research staff. The department of "Social Sciences" was staffed by prominent devotees of our science, including professors I. Suvonkulov, FA Akhmedshina, JSRamatov, associate professors E. Murodov, R. Khidoyatov, M. Pardaev, R. Kholmurodov, S. Abdunazarov, M. Kamolov, F. Mamatkulov. The department conducts lectures and practical classes on such subjects as "The latest history of Uzbekistan", "Philosophy", "Strategy for the development of Uzbekistan. Civil society" .
Currently, the department employs 20 professors and teachers, who are passionate teachers in their fields. Candidates of Philosophy (PhD) Sh.B.Turatov, QQRazzokov, PMKulmatov, AJRo'ziev, TG'.Ibodullaev, XIXidirov, associate professor B.Uzokov, associate professors BYRashidova , SIMamanazarov, MATajibaev, senior lecturers M.Obilqosimov, ZHTakhmedov, Z.Sh.Yodgorov are working diligently and conducting scientific research.
The professors and teachers of the department, while teaching social sciences to students, have created textbooks and study guides, methodological recommendations that meet the requirements of the present day. Our youth are the future of Uzbekistan. In this regard, our students today, who will become tomorrow's professionals , in addition to their specialties, must also know such subjects as "The Latest History of Uzbekistan", "Philosophy", which is the history of our Motherland.

The Department of Social Sciences is carrying out effective work to promote the reforms being implemented in our country in the political-legal, socio-economic, educational, spiritual and educational spheres, and to strengthen the integration of education and science. It also aims to further improve the political and legal awareness and culture of students. The department cooperates with a number of prominent universities in educational, methodological and scientific work. In particular, the Department of Social Sciences has concluded a Cooperation Agreement with the South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov, which is included in the list of 500 universities in the QS ranking within the framework of the "Academic Exchange Cooperation Programs". It has established close ties with Bashkir State University, National University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Technical University, Tashkent State University of Economics, Sharof Rashidov Samarkand State University, Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction, Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Samarkand Institute of Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan , Abdulla Qodiriy Jizzakh State Pedagogical University and other similar educational institutions. The department team is working tirelessly to improve education, create and introduce new advanced pedagogical methods of teaching and learning. As a result of scientific research by members of the department, 13 textbooks, 12 monographs, and about 200 scientific articles have been published in recent years. The professors and teachers of the department are organizing spiritual and educational work on the most relevant topics of today in 3 technical schools and academic lyceums affiliated with the institute.
The professors and teachers of the Department of Social Sciences are conducting a special training course on "Study of Human Rights". As part of the Department Days , visits and interviews with members of the Department and industry specialists were organized in the Student Dormitory . On April 5-6, 2024, the Department of Social Sciences held an international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Issues of cooperation between science, education and production in the era of globalization. " The conference participants participated and presented their programs both offline and online.
