The Department of “Economics and Management” was first established on December 12, 1984 under the name “Construction Technology, its Organization and Economics”. The department began to train in the specialties “Construction Economics and its Organization” and “Agricultural Construction”. In 1989, the name of the department was changed to “Economics and Management in Construction”. In 1992, in connection with the establishment of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute, the name of the department was changed to “Economics and Management in Mechanical Engineering, Construction” and began to train in the following specialties. During these years, the department has been operating as part of the Faculty of “Civil Engineering”. Since 2014, it has been operating under the names “Management”, “Transport Systems Management” and “Economics and Management”. Currently, the Department of “Economics and Management” has 29 professors and teachers. In particular, 1 associate professor, 11 candidates of science, doctors of philosophy and associate professors, 5 associate professors with scientific titles, 4 senior teachers, 9 assistants teach 80 subjects in the specialties of Management, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Industrial Engineering and Management, including 60 bachelor's and 20 master's subjects, in accordance with the State Educational Standards. Today, the assistants of our department Y.Akhmedova, S.Usmanova, D.Turumova, L.Rasulov, Sh.Rasulov are engaged in scientific work as independent researchers.
Bachelor's degree programs in 60410800-Management, 60410200-Accounting, 60410100-Economics, 60411200-Marketing, 60712200-Industrial Engineering and Management are in the fields of science, production, and service industries: management in industry, finance, economics, service, logistics, education, production enterprises, organization of work systems, planning, formation of market infrastructures, modern marketing concepts, industrial production management, accounting and audit methods and techniques in accordance with international standards. Master's degree programs in 70411801-Management and 70410201-Accounting - teaching special subjects related to economic sectors in higher, advanced training and retraining, secondary specialized, vocational educational institutions; The department is focused on conducting research activities at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and industry research institutes. During the activities of the department, D.S. Saidakhmedova will undergo an internship at the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship Development in the direction of “Development of Innovations and Entrepreneurship through Incubations”. The training process for students of the Bachelor's degree in Management and Accounting is organized at the branches of the department: the Department of Economics and Finance of the city of Jizzakh and the enterprises of “Ibrohim Stroy” LLC. Our department has been closely cooperating with prominent and prestigious enterprises in the region, such as “Aloqabank” of Jizzakh region, “Xalqbanki” of Jizzakh region, “Mikrokreditbank” of Jizzakh region, Jizzakh region Statistics Department, Jizzakh region Tax Department, Jizzakh region “Uzbekinvest” insurance company, Iruskon LLC, “SANGZOR TEXTIL” LLC on the internship program. Accounting students are studying on a dual education basis at more than ten enterprises.
Associate Professor of our department, PhD Temur Berdiyorov, participated in the Erasmus+ projects ENGITEC, HIGHVEC, INTRAS, TRIGGER and DEBSEuz. In particular, in 2023 he won 2 grants under the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. The implementation of these DEBSEUz (676962 euros) and TEX4FUTURE (790985 euros) grants is planned for 2024-2027. “Triggering innovative approaches, entrepreneurial skills and attitudes in HEI learners through creating the favorable conditions for graduate’s employability in Central Asia”. The grant from TECHNICKA UNIVERZITA V KOSICIACH (Slovakia) (999,485.00 euros) is also considered an achievement of our department.
