History of the department:
The department was established in 1993 under the name "Automobiles and Automobile Farms" and under the leadership of the head of the department, Ph.D., associate professor Tursunboy Abduazizov, the structure of the department was formed, the necessary educational and methodological support and conditions for organizing the educational process were created. More than 30 scientific articles and more than 10 methodological manuals were prepared and published by the laureate of the "Youth of Uzbekistan" state prize, associate professor T.Abduazizov. In 1998-1999, during the period when the academician of the Agricultural Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ph.D., professor Nosir Rashidovich Rashidov worked as the head of the department, the main attention was paid to increasing the scientific potential. In connection with the introduction of new directions in the education system in Uzbekistan, at the initiative of Academician N. Rashidov, the department was specialized in training bachelors, and its name was changed to "Operation of Vehicles". During 2003-2008, the department was headed by Professor of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute, Ph.D. Khamrakulov Omonboy Khamrakulovich. In a short time, the scientific and pedagogical structure of the department was studied and work was carried out to increase the capacity of the department. The scientific and technical laboratory "Technical Operation of Vehicles" began to operate on the basis of the department. In 2008-2013, the department was headed by Ph.D. Associate Professor Usmonov Salahdin Aliqulovich. Assoc. Prof. Under the leadership of S.Usmanov, the projects of international and scientific grants CD_JEP-26123-2005 “Creation of an engineering master's program in CAD/CAE/CAM systems” (total amount 430810 euros) and OT-F-6-004 “Substantiation of the laws of dispersion of exhaust gases emitted from motor vehicles into the environment and their impact on the atmospheric air balance” (total amount 21000000 soums) were implemented. From 2013 to 2019, the department was headed by Ph.D. Associate Professor Adilov Okbuta Karimovich. The department was specialized in training bachelors and masters and its name was changed to “Surface Transport Systems”. From 2019 to 2023, the department was headed by Ph.D. Associate Professor Askarov Ikhtiyor Bakhtiyorovich. In 2020, it was renamed "Transport Engineering". In 2019-2023, the department published 10 textbooks and 15 training manuals. Since 2023, the department has been headed by Ernazarov Aziz Aliboyevich, PhD. (PhD). During this period, Karimova Kamola Gulomovna and Ernazarov Aziz Aliboyevich defended their doctoral dissertations (PhD). Since September 2024, the department has been headed by Suvankulov Sherali Abdumannonovich. During this short period, the master's degree training process was organized in the form of dual education on the basis of the joint venture "BYD Factory Uzbekistan" LLC. From 1996 to the present, about 10,000 specialists have been trained in automotive transport operation engineering and 300 in the service sector. Among them, the majority are specialists working in various positions in regional, district and city khokimiyats, internal affairs bodies and motor transport enterprises. The department offers undergraduate programs in 60712400 - Automotive and tractor engineering, 60712500 - Vehicle engineering (motor transport), 70712301 Mechanical engineering technology, 70711401 Vehicle engineering (motor transport) and 70711402 Automobiles and automotive industry, and 35 professors and teachers of the department conduct classes for students.
