Department of Transport Logistics
The Department of "Transport Logistics" was established in 2017 on the basis of the Department of "Surface Transport Systems" by combining the directions 5620100- "Organization of Transportation and Transport Logistics (Road Transport)" and 5610100- "Services (Road Transport)", and in the 2016-2017 academic year, by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, it was separated as the Department of "Logistics and Service" and began its activities as a separate department. In the 2020-2021 academic year, the name of the department was changed to "Transport Logistics". In the 2019-2020 academic years, taking into account the reforms implemented by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the development of the mechanical engineering and electrical engineering industries, the department opened the bachelor's degree program "5320200 - Mechanical engineering technology, equipment and automation of mechanical engineering production". In the 2020-2021 academic years, the department opened the master's degree specialty 70711601 - Intelligent transport systems (motor transport) based on the National Personnel Training Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 463-I of 1997. Today, a total of 305 students and masters are studying in the bachelor's program 5620100-"Transportation Organization and Transport Logistics (Road Transport)" and 5610100-"Services (Road Transport)" and the master's program 70711601-Intelligent Transport Systems (Road Transport) at the department. Of these, 60 students are studying on a grant basis, 245 students are studying on a payment contract basis, 6 masters are studying on a grant basis, and 3 masters are studying on a payment contract basis. The department of "Transport Logistics" is preparing bachelors in three bachelor's programs and one masters in one master's program based on the national personnel training program. From the 2021-2022 academic year, 25 professors and teachers will work at the department. 8 associate professors, 5 senior teachers, 12 assistants are working. The main tasks of the department team are to provide modern logistics services and train qualified bachelors and masters in mechanical engineering, conduct educational and methodological, scientific and research work. The professors and teachers of the department also actively participate in international projects, and are participating in the project INTRAS-Intelligent Transport Systems-Creating a new master's program based on information and communication technologies in Uzbekistan. The professors and teachers of the department also actively participate in local projects, including the project "Study of passenger flow for the Samarkand agglomeration" was won. The professors and teachers of the department are conducting advanced training at foreign universities and conducting scientific research on the basis of one-time projects. In particular, the associate professor of the department, Abdunazarov Jamshid Nurmuhammadovich, returned to UW Milwaukee from August 23, 2021 to December 31, 2021 as part of the "Faculty Enrichment program" implemented by the US Embassy in Uzbekistan and the American Council on International Education for teachers of higher education institutions of Uzbekistan. The teacher of the department, Nishonov Aziz Okzikul, improved his skills in the international summer school program "International Summer School "Road #1"" at the Moscow Automobile Institute (MADI) in Moscow, Russian Federation, in the 2021-2022 academic year. The department also pays special attention to sports. As a result, the teachers of the department have become the winners of the "Rector's Cup" football competitions held at the initiative of the rector of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute twice in a row in recent years.
