On May 8, 2025, professors, teachers and employees of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute laid wreaths at the "Mourning Mother" monument in the city of Jizzakh, paying tribute to the memory of those who died in World War II.
This event was held on the occasion of May 9 - the Day of Memory and Honor. The rector of the institute, vice-rectors, professors, deans of faculties, and students gathered in front of the monument and remembered those who sacrificed their lives for the prosperity of the Motherland during the war years.
During the event, the participants first laid wreaths at the "Mourning Mother" monument, paying tribute to the souls of thousands of our compatriots who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland. A minute of silence was observed, paying tribute to the memory of our ancestors who died for the peace, freedom and prosperity of the country.
Veterans of the war and labor fronts also participated in the event. Students and young people talked with them and learned the lessons of history through their memories, patience and stories of courage. This meeting further strengthened the desire of young people to serve their country and value peace.
The staff of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute considers it their civic duty to commemorate the memory of their ancestors who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country on May 9 every year. Such events serve as an important tool in educating the younger generation in the spirit of national pride and patriotism.
