Currently, a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Otabek Mahkamov, is on a business trip to the People's Republic of China. Representatives of 13 leading higher educational institutions of our country, including the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovation of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute, Jamshid Abdunazarov, are actively participating in the delegation. On June 10, 2025, at an official meeting in Beijing, Otabek Mahkamov and the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, Chen Szyachan, held talks. During the conversation, the parties reached agreements on further strengthening cooperation in the field of science and innovation, including the establishment of joint scientific research centers, increasing the number of scientific projects, and implementing long-term programs in promising areas. During the meeting, the issues of developing a "Roadmap in the field of science and innovation" for 2025-2030, organizing annual scientific forums, expanding internship programs for young scientists, as well as increasing the number of joint projects being implemented from 30 to 60 per year were discussed and approved by the parties. It should be noted that since 2019, a competition for joint scientific projects has been held between Uzbekistan and China on an ongoing basis. To date, 50 scientific projects worth a total of more than 65 billion soums have been financed. A seminar dedicated to Uzbekistan-China scientific and technical cooperation was also held. The Uzbek delegation actively participated in the event, noting that the pace of relations between the two countries is steadily increasing, the number of joint projects and the amount of funds allocated to them is steadily increasing. A number of proposals and initiatives were also put forward at the meeting on future directions.
