Visit of Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute Staff to the Regional Vocational Skills Center in Tashkent

Staff members of the Engineering School of Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute paid a visit to the Regional Vocational Skills Center in Tashkent, established with financial support from KOICA. During the visit, they became closely acquainted with the Center’s activities, training processes, and practical training areas.

The Center was established in 2012 and currently offers short-term vocational courses in automobile maintenance, computer engineering technologies, and electronic devices and their servicing. The primary objective of the Center is to prepare unemployed youth for modern professions. The training process is organized on the basis of 20 percent theoretical instruction and 80 percent practical training.

Within the framework of the KOICA program, trainees study at the Center for six months and subsequently complete a two-month internship at industrial enterprises. The Center has the capacity to train 360 unemployed young people annually in accordance with Korean standards. Upon successful completion of the courses, trainees are awarded a diploma or a certificate depending on their academic performance. In addition, young people registered with the Social Protection Agency are provided with a monthly stipend of 1,270,000 UZS.

A vocational knowledge and skills assessment center also operates under the Center, carrying out assessment, certification, attestation, and retraining of graduates from monomarkaz centers, vocational training centers, technical colleges, as well as industry specialists across the country. This visit was of significant importance for experience exchange and for establishing effective cooperation in the future.
