An event on the theme “My Neighborhood – My Pride” was held.

Within the framework of the project “My Neighborhood – My Pride,” implemented based on the joint resolution of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, the Uzbekistan Association of Mahallas, and the Youth Affairs Agency, an educational, spiritual-enlightenment, and promotional event was held at Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute with the participation of students, neighborhood activists, and the wider community.

The main goal of the event was to strengthen young people’s sense of belonging to their neighborhood, promote patriotism, civic responsibility, and social activity, as well as to further develop cooperation between higher education institutions and neighborhood organizations.

During the event, experienced neighborhood activists and elders delivered lectures on social and moral processes in neighborhood life, the role and importance of the mahalla institution in youth education, and ways to strengthen social solidarity in society. Among the speakers were Normurod Karimov, Senior Sergeant of the Jizzakh Regional Internal Affairs Department and activist of Toqchilik mahalla in Sharof Rashidov District; Joniqul Mallayev, advisor to elders of Yoshlik mahalla; Khosiyat Farmanova, head of the “Buvijonlar maktabi” in Yoshlik mahalla; and Mamatqul Bekmurodov, activist of Zargarlik mahalla and member of the council of elders, who shared their life experiences and reflections.

In the artistic part of the event, talented students of the institute performed poems, national dances, and songs celebrating love for the homeland, mahalla values, and human virtues, leaving a warm impression on the participants.

Additionally, the “Student Theater” group from the Faculty of Energy Engineering staged a theatrical performance titled “A Child’s Tragedy” on the theme “My Neighborhood – My Pride.” The performance highlighted the importance of family upbringing, parental responsibility, and the severe consequences of social indifference in a compelling way.

At the conclusion of the event, participants offered suggestions and recommendations to further activate the project’s activities and ensure consistent cooperation between neighborhoods and higher education institutions.

The event played a significant role in strengthening young people’s respect and pride for their neighborhood, fostering them into active, initiative-driven, and responsible citizens.
