The event was aimed at strengthening youth knowledge and skills in information security, as well as promoting a culture of safe and responsible use of the Internet and social networks. The event was opened by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, M. Ochilov, who introduced the guests and participants and emphasized the growing importance of cybersecurity issues today.
The event was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Sh. Qosimov, Head of the Department for Combating IT-related Crimes of the Jizzakh Regional Internal Affairs Directorate; M. Rahmonberdiyev, Head of the Jizzakh Regional Department of the Youth Affairs Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan; A. Rabbimov, Chairman of the Jizzakh Regional Council of the Uzbekistan Youth Union; deans of faculties, tutors, and students.
During their presentations, experts illustrated that alongside the development of digital technologies, threats from cybercrime, online fraud, and breaches of personal data are increasing, urging young people to use the Internet wisely. Practical recommendations were provided to students, including enabling two-factor authentication, creating strong passwords, avoiding suspicious links, exercising caution in financial transactions, and protecting personal data.
At the conclusion of the event, the need to further develop a culture of information security among youth and to hold regular seminars and trainings across faculties was emphasized. This meeting contributes to fostering a responsible approach to cybersecurity among students, strengthening safe Internet usage skills, and developing an informed attitude toward online threats.
