Within the framework of the meeting held at Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction, the winner of the nationwide “Green University” contest among higher education institutions was awarded. Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute was recognized as the winner of this competition, which focused on promoting environmental sustainability, implementing green technologies, and protecting the environment.
As a symbol of the President’s recognition, the institute’s team, which considers ecological responsibility an integral part of the educational process, was presented with a BYD Chazor electric car.
It is noteworthy that out of the institute’s 24-hectare campus, more than 22,000 fruit-bearing and ornamental trees have been planted across 21 hectares, creating an extensive green area. A drip irrigation system has been installed to ensure efficient use of water resources. Solar panels with a capacity of 650 kW have also been installed, reducing electricity consumption by 67% over the past year.
Additionally, as part of the nationwide “Green Space” project, trees were planted on the campus of Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction during the event.
