Today, on April 6, the official opening ceremony of the “New Uzbekistan Student Olympiad” sports competitions was held at the Museum of Olympic and Paralympic Glory. This large-scale project is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations, and the National Olympic Committee.
The ceremony was attended by Odil Abdurahmonov, representative of the Presidential Administration; Minister of Sports Adham Ikromov; First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations Sardor Rajabov; First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Otabek Umarov; as well as university rectors, representatives of sports federations, and a wide range of the public.
Speakers at the event emphasized that educating young people to be healthy and well-rounded is one of the state’s top priorities. In particular, the Olympiad is expected to not only engage students but also further promote mass sports and a healthy lifestyle across society.
“This sports competition aims to develop mass sports among students, provide them with necessary conditions, promote a healthy lifestyle, and we are confident that it will involve millions of young people,” highlighted Deputy Minister Sardor Rajabov.
All stages of the competition are monitored through the Ministry of Sports’ unified electronic management system “ERP-sport.” To date, 168 higher education institutions, including 92 public, 52 private, and 24 foreign universities, have registered via this system.
👥 The total number of students who expressed interest in participating has reached 159,273.
📅 The competitions will be held in three stages:
🔘 Stage 1: April 6–20
🔘 Stage 2: May 1–15
🔘 Final stage: June 1–10 at the Olympic City in Tashkent
🏆 The multi-sport competitions include volleyball, handball, 3x3 basketball, table tennis, football, athletics, and swimming (swimming events start from Stage 2).

🔹 The opening ceremony was followed by the awarding of the winners of the “Student League” sports competitions, which began at Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute in November 2025 and concluded recently.
The Rector of the institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Alisher Usmankulov, congratulated the winners of the “Student League” competitions and wished success to all participants of the “New Uzbekistan Student Olympiad.”
