During the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Jizzakh region on December 2, 2025, important directives were given to establish an engineering school in the field of nuclear energy at Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute and to introduce joint educational programs in collaboration with the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” (Moscow) in this field.
To implement these directives, an official meeting was held at Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute with a delegation from the MEPhI National Research Nuclear University branch in Tashkent.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Rector of the institute, Alisher Usmankulov.
The event was attended by Yuriy Maslov, Director of the Tashkent MEPhI branch; Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Zarina Uzakova; Deputy Director for Youth Affairs and Educational Work Vohid Qudratov; Head of the Academic-Methodological Department Saodat Shovdirova; as well as Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute leadership and responsible officials — Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Maqsud Ochilov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovations Jamshid Abdunazarov, Head of International Cooperation Department Muhriddin Eshqulov, Dean of the Faculty of Energy Engineering Mehriddin Usanov, Head of the Department of Radioelectronics Sharof Qarshiboyev, and Head of the Department of Energy and Electrical Technologies Elnur Abdullayev.
During the discussions, both sides thoroughly examined prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation. Special attention was given to joint research activities in the field of nuclear energy, the training of highly qualified specialists, and the implementation of joint educational programs.
Within the framework of the meeting, delegation members were also introduced to the institute’s recent scientific and innovative projects, modern research directions, and material-technical base, examining the existing infrastructure and achievements firsthand.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reached agreements to advance cooperation to a new level, implement promising scientific projects, and further strengthen the integration of education and science.
