Within the framework of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 3, 2025 (No. PF–207) “On comprehensive measures to effectively protect public health and the nation’s gene pool from drug abuse and drug-related crimes,” on May 4, 2026, a visit was organized to Penal Colony No. 29, located in the “A” industrial zone of Jizzakh city, Jizzakh region, under the 3rd Regional Coordination Center.

The visit was attended by institute students, preventive inspectors, and led by the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work, S. Eshbekova.

The main purpose of the visit was to familiarize participants with the lives of inmates serving sentences for drug-related crimes. Such visits aim to raise awareness among young people about the severe consequences of drug abuse and drug-related offenses, prevent delinquency, promote a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen students’ sense of social responsibility.

During the visit, students observed the living conditions created for inmates, including rehabilitation processes and psychological support activities. Inmates shared real-life stories about the causes that led them to crime, the destructive impact of drug addiction, and the deep regret and serious consequences they face.

Through direct interaction and a roundtable discussion with inmates, students gained a deeper understanding that drug addiction not only destroys an individual’s life but also causes serious social problems for their families, surroundings, and society as a whole.

During the discussions, inmates sincerely shared their life experiences, mistakes, and their consequences, calling on young people to avoid making similar wrong choices. Their stories served as an important lesson for the students.

This visit played a significant role in shaping a healthy lifestyle among youth, fostering respect for the law, encouraging thoughtful decision-making, and strengthening their sense of responsibility toward society.
