Training Competitive Human Resources for the Automotive Industry

At Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, the “Engineering School” has been established in cooperation with major industrial enterprises in the region, including “Uzavtosanoat” JSC, the joint venture “BYD Uzbekistan Factory,” and the “ADM Jizzakh” automobile plants.

On December 2, 2025, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the institute and issued a series of important instructions aimed at further improving and developing the activities of this school.

The main objective of the Engineering School is to train highly qualified engineering personnel who possess strong knowledge of modern technologies and production processes for the country’s industrial sector, particularly the automotive and manufacturing industries.
Currently, the school operates in the following four main directions:
🔹 Training engineers based on dual education — more than 150 engineers are trained annually from among the institute’s talented students for automotive enterprises;
🔹 Professional development of specialists — up to 300 industry specialists per year participate in advanced training courses. International-level mentors and experts are engaged in the educational process based on the needs of enterprises;
🔹 Short-term vocational training courses — 250 citizens interested in working in the industry are trained annually in modern professions;
🔹 Vocational training for youth and entrepreneurs — up to 200 unemployed young people and entrepreneurs receive training in modern vocational fields each year.

Modern learning platforms have been established at the Engineering School, and curricula based on 16 new educational programs have been developed and approved.

One of the most innovative projects of the school is a mini-conveyor production line. This line covers the main stages of automobile manufacturing, including welding, painting, assembly, electronic system integration, quality control, and testing processes.

Through this platform, students are acquiring practical skills in working with robotic equipment, quality control and analysis, Lean Manufacturing principles, occupational safety, and production management.

In addition, vocational training has been carried out in six key areas:
• Mechanical engineering technology;
• Installation and adjustment of electronic equipment;
• Maintenance of electrical equipment;
• Computer graphics and multimedia systems;
• Computer engineering technologies;
• Automotive maintenance.

Within this program, unemployed youth are being trained in professional skills, and graduates are awarded vocational certificates.

Among the significant projects implemented at the Engineering School, the following are particularly noteworthy:
🔹 At the initiative of the Jizzakh Regional Department of the Youth Affairs Agency, a special two-month (288-hour) training course titled “Maintenance of Modern Electric Vehicles” was organized for children from families registered in the social protection registry, where participants were trained in modern professions;
🔹 A one-month special course was organized for 32 students of Vocational School No. 1 in Shaykhontohur district of Tashkent city. At the end of the course, they were awarded professional certificates. It was also agreed that 14 graduates would be admitted to Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute in the next academic year through interviews.

In addition, based on the curriculum developed jointly by this vocational school and the Engineering School, students’ practical training at the “BYD Uzbekistan Factory” joint venture has been launched. The internship is organized under the dual education system, three days per week.
Currently, the Engineering School has signed cooperation agreements with vocational schools in Chilanzar and Sergeli districts of Tashkent city, as well as the Urgench vocational school in Khorezm region.

In the future, it is planned to further expand cooperation with vocational institutions across the country, train young people in the fields of modern electric vehicle production and maintenance, and establish advanced educational platforms aimed at developing a new generation of engineers.
