A preventive meeting dedicated to **June 26 – the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking** was held at Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute with the participation of students.

The event was opened by the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work, S. Eshbekova, who emphasized the importance of preventing drug abuse and drug-related crimes, promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people, and enhancing legal awareness.

The meeting was attended by T. Khaydarov, Deputy Chairman of the Jizzakh Regional Court; Q. Kholmurodov, Judge of the Jizzakh Regional Court; J. Tangmatov, A. O‘rinov, and M. Eshquvatov, judges of the Jizzakh City Criminal Court; Sh. Qayumov, First Deputy Head of the Jizzakh City Department of Internal Affairs; as well as faculty members and students of the Institute.

During the event, experts provided detailed information on the harmful consequences of drug abuse and drug-related crimes, measures to prevent the involvement of young people in illegal activities through the Internet and social media, efforts to combat offenses and crime, and the legal liability established under current legislation.

The importance of promoting a healthy lifestyle, organizing meaningful leisure activities for young people, and encouraging their active participation in sports, science, and creative activities was also highlighted.

At the conclusion of the event, participants received comprehensive answers from the experts to their questions.
