Prospective Cooperation Issues with the South Korean Delegation Were Discussed within the Framework of an Asian Development Bank Grant Project
Today, a meeting was held at Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute with representatives of the South Korean delegation regarding the project “Improving Horticulture and Agricultural Productivity through Enhancing Soil and Water Quality in Jizzakh Region,” which is planned to be implemented within the framework of the Asian Development Bank Grant No. 9245-UZB.
The delegation members were welcomed by Maqsudjon Ochilov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Institute, Muhriddin Eshqulov, Head of the International Cooperation Department, representatives of the Jizzakh Regional Innovation Development Division, as well as faculty members.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged detailed views on the next stages of activities to be carried out within the project, their effective organization, and further expansion of mutual cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to ensuring graduate employment, training qualified specialists who meet labour market requirements, and introducing modern technologies in the agricultural sector. In this regard, proposals were discussed to organize three-month short-term training courses and practical professional development programs in the Republic of Korea for students and specialists of the Institute in the field of organic fertilizer production.
The participants also exchanged views on the prospects for implementing innovative solutions aimed at the treatment of wastewater and sewage water using modern technologies, their reuse for irrigation of agricultural crops, and the rational and efficient management of water resources.
The meeting also addressed issues related to attracting leading higher education institutions of the Republic of Korea to the project, expanding cooperation in education and research, launching joint educational programs, and developing academic exchange opportunities for faculty members and students.
The parties emphasized that this cooperation will contribute to the introduction of modern technologies in the fields of agriculture, ecology, and water resource management in the Jizzakh region, the wider application of international experience, and the training of highly qualified specialists.
At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to consistently continue cooperation in the identified areas and ensure the effective implementation of the project.
