Next Steps to Improve Energy Efficiency and Ensure the Rational Use of Energy Resources
A seminar was held in Jizzakh Region dedicated to ensuring a smooth winter season, providing consumers with a stable supply of electricity, and improving energy efficiency within the energy system.
The event was attended by the Governor of Jizzakh Region, the head of the Electric Power Industry Control Inspectorate (“Uzenergoinspeksiya”) under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of relevant government organizations, and industry specialists.
Professors and lecturers of the Department of Energy and Electrical Technologies of Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute also actively participated in the seminar. In particular, Associate Professor Muhiddin Anarboyev delivered a presentation on the work carried out by the institute’s academic staff to improve energy efficiency and ensure the rational use of energy resources, including the results of a study on electricity losses in Sharof Rashidov District.
The presentation provided detailed information on the advanced practices of developed countries in improving energy efficiency, measures that need to be implemented to conserve energy resources, as well as practical recommendations developed by the institute’s academic staff.
During the seminar, the participants discussed measures aimed at implementing the Presidential measures announced on July 27 to further improve the energy sector, preparing thoroughly for the autumn-winter season, repairing power grids and transformer substations, increasing available capacity, and preventing emergency power outages.
In particular, it was noted that in Sharof Rashidov District, plans include the construction of 322 km of new power lines, reconstruction of 58 km of networks, routine maintenance of 378.3 km of power lines, installation of 128 transformers, and routine maintenance at 96 transformer substations.
Additional measures were also identified to improve the energy efficiency of social sector facilities, increase substation capacity, and digitalize the energy system.
At the conclusion of the seminar, relevant officials were instructed to complete the assigned tasks on time and with high quality, ensure a stable electricity supply to consumers throughout the autumn-winter season, and take measures to prevent potential emergency situations.
