As part of the implementation of Presidential Decree No. PF–207 dated November 3, 2025, “On Comprehensive Measures to Effectively Protect Public Health and the Nation’s Gene Pool from Drug Addiction and Drug-Related Crimes,” a visit to Correctional Colony No. 29 in Jizzakh City was organized on September 14, 2026.

The visit was led by S. Eshbekova, First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Enlightenment Work, with the participation of the institute’s prevention inspectors, deputy deans, and students.

The main purpose of the visit was to familiarize students with the lives of individuals serving sentences for drug-related crimes, raise awareness among young people about the serious consequences of drug addiction and drug-related crime, and contribute to the prevention of offenses.

During the visit, Sh. Bozorboyev, Head of the Educational Work Department of Correctional Colony No. 29 under the 3rd Regional Coordination Center, F. Kholmatov, Deputy Head for Operational and Search Activities, and E. Murodkhujayev, Duty Officer of the colony, provided students with information about the conditions created for inmates, their reintegration into society, as well as rehabilitation and psychological support processes.

An open dialogue was also held with inmates, who shared their life experiences, the reasons that led them to commit crimes, their mistakes, and the serious consequences of their actions. Real-life examples were presented regarding the harmful effects of drug addiction on individuals, families, and society.

The discussion helped students understand that any wrong decision can have serious consequences for a person’s life, family, and future. The life experiences shared by the inmates served as an important lesson for young people.

Such preventive visits play an important role in raising young people’s legal awareness, promoting a healthy lifestyle, fostering respect for the law, and strengthening their social responsibility toward society.
