A significant step has been taken in Uzbekistan to advance engineering education by introducing it from the school level. In Jizzakh City, an Engineering School integrated with Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute has been established to train future engineering professionals.

The main objectives of the school are to guide young people toward modern professions, foster their interest in engineering, and establish a strong link between school education, higher education, and industry.

A meeting was organized at Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute between the institute’s administration and students admitted to the Engineering School.

The meeting was attended by Rector A. Usmankulov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs M. Ochilov, the administration and teaching staff of the Engineering School, and students.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Rector congratulated the newly admitted students on the new academic year and wished them success in their studies. He also expressed confidence that the students would become highly qualified and accomplished specialists in their chosen fields.

During the dialogue, the Rector shared his professional and life experience, discussing various issues that students may encounter during their education, possible solutions, and important aspects they should pay attention to in the learning process.

The students were also introduced to school and institute staff responsible for providing support and practical assistance in various areas. They were given detailed information on whom to contact if they encounter specific issues or problems.

The meeting also provided detailed information about the educational programs available at Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute, modern facilities created for students, international cooperation programs, modern educational opportunities, engineering fields, advanced laboratories, and promising projects.

For reference: The educational process at Engineering Schools is organized according to a five-year program based on the STEM model, with 240 students receiving education funded by the state budget.
Years 1–3: emphasis is placed on physics, mathematics, and foreign languages.
Years 4–5: focus is placed on introductory engineering training.

Graduates of Engineering Schools who meet the established requirements are granted the right to continue their studies from the second year without entrance tests or additional examinations, under a one-year additional state grant in the relevant higher education program corresponding to the engineering education program.

This creates a continuous and promising educational pathway from school to higher education for young people.

As part of the meeting, the students also became closely acquainted with the activities of the institute’s Automotive Engineering School and the Scientific and Practical Center for Alternative Energy Research.
