1. The Institute's Academic Council meeting is held on the last Wednesday of each month during the academic year at 1:30 p.m. in the Institute's Assembly Hall.
2. The informant (reporter) and the responsible persons are required to submit signed information (in paper and electronic form) on the issue to be considered at the council meeting to the Secretary of the Academic Council 3 days before the meeting.
3. The Director of the Information Resource Center provides information about new literature received at the Scientific Council meetings.
4. The Head of the "Internal Control and Monitoring" Department provides information about issues raised in citizens' appeals at the Scientific Council meetings.
5. At the Scientific Council meetings, the Scientific Secretary provides information about the implementation of the Council's decisions.
The Scientific Council consists of 38 members. The members are chaired by the rector, vice-rectors, deans, heads of departments, heads of departments and 3 heads of production. The Scientific Council considers decrees, orders and resolutions of the President and Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 1 issue.
Based on the annual work plan, the spiritual, moral and educational, educational and methodological, scientific and research, financial and economic work carried out during the academic year, as well as the progress of cooperation with academic lyceums and vocational colleges and future tasks are discussed.

1. In accordance with the Regulations on Higher Education, an academic council is established under the chairmanship of the rector to consider key issues related to the activities of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute.
2. The main task of the Scientific Council is to unite the efforts of the institute's staff in activities aimed at fulfilling the following tasks: Implementing the National Program for Personnel Training, ensuring the training of high-quality bachelor's and master's degrees based on modern pedagogical technologies and computerization, further developing scientific research. Instilling in young people patriotism, citizenship, pride in their homeland, and the formation of spiritual, educational and cultural qualities.
3. According to the regulations, the Scientific Council includes: the rector (chairman), vice-rectors, deans of faculties, directors of independent organizations and branches of the institute, heads of departments that train specialists, as well as representatives of students and trade unions of the institute. Other members of the Scientific Council are determined by order of the rector from among the teaching staff. The Scientific Council may include major scientists and specialists working on specific problems of the institute, as well as representatives of foreign educational institutions with interstate and direct ties. The term of office is 5 years.
4. The composition of the Academic Council is approved by order of the rector of the institute. Each academic year, new members are elected or introduced in accordance with the regulations to replace those who have left the Academic Council for various reasons.
5. The Institute's Council:
– Reviewing the strict implementation of educational standards, curricula and programs in accordance with the National Program for Personnel Training;
– Determines the expediency of organizing Scientific Councils in cooperation with foreign countries and the Institute;
– Listens to reports on the educational, scientific, research and spiritual and educational work of the faculties, as well as reports from lyceums, hears reports from the admissions committee on the results of admission, the marketing service on the needs of the national economy in graduate specialists, and contacts with orders;
– Summarizes the major qualification practice of students and makes recommendations for their improvement;
– Discusses plans for scientific research, spiritual and educational work and issues of advanced training of the teaching staff;
– Makes decisions on establishing relations with foreign higher education institutions;
– Makes decisions on issues related to the opening, closing, and changing of faculties and departments;
– Makes proposals on the opening of new educational areas (specialties) taking into account the proposals of the Marketing Service;
– Considers the issues of preparing and publishing textbooks, teaching aids, and scientific educational and methodological literature;
– Holds competitions for the positions of professors and teachers in accordance with the Regulation “On the Procedure for Hiring Pedagogical Employees of Higher Education Institutions”;
– Considers the documents of applicants seeking the academic title of professor, associate professor, and submits them for approval for academic titles in accordance with the established procedure;
– Recommends candidates for postgraduate and doctoral studies and other forms of post-graduate education;
– Recommends candidates from among excellent students and faculty members for internships at foreign universities through the “Ustoz”, “Umid”, “Iste’dod” foundations;
– Hears reports from heads of small enterprises, firms and courses engaged in educational services;
– Recommends candidates from among graduates of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute for admission to master’s and postgraduate studies, as well as approves personal plans and topics for candidate dissertations of researchers and postgraduates;
– Recommends candidates from among excellent students and postgraduates of the Institute for receiving named scholarships;
– Hears reports from faculty deans on relations with graduates of the faculty and postgraduates, develops measures to further improve personnel training.
– Develops measures to further improve the physical education of students and their health in collaboration with the “Sog’lom avlod uchun” Foundation;
– Determines measures to improve the technical safety and labor protection of students and employees of the Institute;
– Approves the current (annual) perspective plans for the development of the Institute and hears the results of financial and economic activities;
– Discusses draft plans for advanced training of specialists with higher education, hears the report of the head of the advanced training branches of the Institute;
6. The Academic Council carries out its work in accordance with a plan developed for each academic year. The plan of the Academic Council is approved by the rector of the institute after being reviewed by the Academic Council.
7. Decisions of the Academic Council on all issues of academic and scientific work are made by a majority vote in an open vote. Competitions for the positions of professors and teaching staff, as well as applications for the academic titles of professor and associate professor, are made in a closed vote in accordance with the established procedure.
8. The decisions of the Academic Council come into force after approval by the rector of the institute.
9. The meeting of the Scientific Council shall be documented by minutes. The minutes shall be signed by the chairman and secretary of the Scientific Council.
10. The Chairman of the Scientific Council regularly organizes inspections of the implementation of the decisions of the Scientific Council and informs the members of the Scientific Council about the implementation of the decisions made.
