The Department of "Transport Logistics" was established in 2017 on the basis of the Department of "Ground Transport Systems" by combining the directions 5620100- "Organization of Transportation and Transport Logistics (Road Transport)" and 5610100- "Services (Road Transport)", and in the 2016-2017 academic year, by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, it was separated as the Department of "Logistics and Service" and began its activities as a separate department.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, the name of the department was changed to "Transport Logistics".
In the 2019-2020 academic year, the department opened the undergraduate program "5320200 - Mechanical Engineering Technology, Equipment and Automation of Mechanical Engineering Production", taking into account the reforms implemented by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to develop the mechanical engineering and electrical engineering industries.
Based on the National Personnel Training Program No. 463-I of the Republic of Uzbekistan of 1997 to form a new generation of personnel, the department opened a master's degree specialty 70711601-Intellectual Transport Systems (Road Transport) in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Today, a total of 305 students and masters are studying at the department in the bachelor's degree program 5620100-"Transportation Organization and Transport Logistics (Road Transport)" and 5610100-"Services (Road Transport)" and the master's degree program 70711601-Intelligent Transport Systems (Road Transport). Of these, 60 students are studying on a grant basis, 245 students are studying on a fee-based contract basis, 6 masters are studying on a grant basis, and 3 masters are studying on a fee-based contract basis.
The Department of Transport Logistics is preparing bachelors in three undergraduate areas of study and masters in one master's degree specialty based on the national training program.
From the 2021-2022 academic year, 25 professors and teachers are working in the department. 8 associate professors, 5 senior teachers, and 12 assistants are working. The main tasks of the department team are to provide modern logistics services and train qualified bachelors and masters in mechanical engineering, conduct educational and methodological, and research work.
The professors and teachers of the department also actively participate in international projects, including the project INTRAS - Intelligent Transport Systems - to create a new master's program based on information and communication technologies in Uzbekistan.
The professors and teachers of the department are also actively participating in local projects, including the project "Study of passenger flow for the Samarkand agglomeration".
The professors and teachers of the department are conducting advanced training at foreign universities and conducting scientific research on the basis of one-time projects.
In particular, Associate Professor of the Department Abdunazarov Jamshid Nurmuhammadovich returned to UW Milwaukee from August 23, 2021 to December 31, 2021 as part of the "Faculty Enrichment Program" implemented by the US Embassy in Uzbekistan and the American Council on International Education for teachers of higher education institutions of Uzbekistan.
The teacher of the department, Aziz Oqzikul oglu Nishonov, has been improving his skills in the international summer school program "International Summer School "Road #1"" at the Moscow Automobile Road Institute (MADI) in Moscow, Russian Federation, in the 2021-2022 academic year.
The department also pays special attention to sports. As a result, the department's teachers have won the "Rector's Cup" football competition twice in a row in recent years, which is held at the initiative of the rector of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute.
